Legami was created during the artistic residency Le Fonticelle in Frosolone, Molise, in a place historically dedicated to encounters: the first stage of transhumance, a crossroads of paths, stories, and collective memories.

At the center of the work, eight suspended triangles, painted in the color of the sky, form a light, modular structure capable of taking on different roles: roof, wall, threshold, or meeting space. This color blends them into the horizon, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape, while simultaneously evoking air and water, vital and invisible elements that connect everything.

Their suspension makes them responsive to the environment: they sway with the wind, filter the light, and react to the presence of those who pass beneath them. They become receptive surfaces that capture and reflect moving images, foliage, clouds, and reflections, transforming themselves into a device that reveals what often escapes the eye.

Hand-embroidered designs on their surfaces intertwine art and local memory, featuring knives that represent the historic artisan tradition, doors and ancient walls that preserve the history of the place, traditional Frosolone costumes, the names of notable local figures, and the dates of earthquakes that have marked the town’s destiny. Every detail becomes a fragment of a sensitive archive, capable of intertwining the narrative of the present with that of the past.

Alongside its visual dimension, the installation is completed by the song of the hawfinch, a bird that symbolizes Frosolone and is now at risk of extinction. During the inauguration, the sound was broadcast simultaneously from the audience’s devices, transforming the space into a collective choir and restoring to the landscape an echo that time had nearly erased.

Legami is a suspended architecture that welcomes and connects: a place where the sky meets the earth, light meets matter, and stories intertwine to create new relationships, both visible and invisible.
